🎨 How to Create a Custom Gradient in Canva

Method 1: Using the New Canva “Gradient Tool”

Canva now offers an easy way to add beautiful custom gradients to your shapes, backgrounds, and designs. Follow the steps below to create your own gradient using Canva’s built-in tools.

✅ Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Open the Elements tab

• From your Canva editor, click on Elements in the left sidebar.

• Scroll or click See all next to Shapes.

2️⃣ Choose a shape

• Select any shape you’d like to apply the gradient to.

• For this example, we’re using the square shape at the top.

3️⃣ Add the shape to your canvas

• Click the shape to add it to your design.

• Then, click on the color box at the top toolbar.

4️⃣ Select Gradient

• Once in the color settings, switch from Solid color to Gradient.

• You’ll now be able to pick Gradient colors and a Style.

🎨 Pro Tip: You can mix any colors you like and even add more than two for unique gradient effects.

5️⃣ Apply your gradient

• Once you’re happy with the color combo and style, apply it to your shape.

• You can now use this custom gradient as a background or fill color for any other element in your design.

📌 Notes & Tips

• Canva may periodically update the UI, so if you don’t see the Gradient option, make sure you’re using the latest version.

• You can also copy and paste your gradient-filled shape to use in other designs.
