Follow the steps below to remove a background from any image in Canva using the BG Remover feature.
🔧 METHOD 1: For Canva Pro Users
🥇 Step 1: Select Your Image
Click on the image you'd like to edit within your Canva design. Then click the “Edit Image” button at the top toolbar.
🧙♀️ Step 2: Open the Effects Panel
Under the Effects tab, scroll until you see “BG Remover” within the Magic Studio section.
Click on BG Remover — Canva will use AI to automatically detect and remove the background from your image.
✍️ Step 3: Fine-Tune With the Brush Tool
Once the background is removed, you can make manual adjustments:
-
Use the Erase brush to remove more of the background
-
Use the Restore brush to bring back parts that were accidentally removed
These tools allow you to refine edges and clean up details based on your preference.
✅ Tips:
-
Use zoom to make fine edits easier
-
Adjust brush size for better control around edges
-
Always preview your image before finalizing
⚠️ Note:
The Background Remover is only available with a Canva Pro subscription. Free users will need to upgrade or use third-party tools.
