CustomCat Design Placement Presets
CustomCat Design Placement Presets Explained
Overview
Presets (used in the CustomCat App and the PresetID
field in your manual CSV file or API payload) define artwork positioning rules for specific products and print locations.
Presets are essential when:
-
Your artwork doesn’t exactly match the recommended pixel dimensions in CustomCat’s Print Specifications
-
You want CustomCat to trim whitespace and automatically place your design in a standardized position (e.g., left chest, center front, full back, back yoke)
Using a preset ensures your artwork is correctly aligned and scaled, even if your file dimensions vary slightly.
🧩 When to Use a Preset
Scenario | Use Preset? |
---|---|
You’ve designed artwork at the exact pixel dimensions from the art guide & want to control placement yourself (API and CSV) | ❌ No (except with Patch Hats) |
You want CustomCat to trim whitespace and place it in a standard location like front center or left chest | ✅ Yes |
You’re submitting art that’s smaller or larger than the print area and don’t want to manually trim or align | ✅ Yes |
You’re submitting art for Sublimated Patch Hats | ✅ Yes |
🆔 Where Do I Find PresetIDs?
You can view your design with each preset dimension in the CustomCat App > Create Product or Order Now features.
