 How to Group Multiple Products Into One Etsy Listing

CustomCat’s product-grouping feature allows you to combine multiple product styles into a single Etsy listing using the same design.

For example, you can offer a T-shirt, hoodie, and crewneck within one listing. Your customers can then choose from three separate variation menus:

• Style — T-Shirt, Hoodie, Crewneck, and more
• Color — Available colors for the selected style
• Size — Available sizes for the selected style

Previously, Etsy sellers had to manually combine Style and Size into one variation or sync individual variants back to CustomCat. Now that Etsy supports three variations, grouped products can be created and published directly through the CustomCat app.

No changes to your Etsy shop or integration settings are required.

1. Begin Creating Your Products

1. Open the CustomCat app and click Create Product.
2. In the Select a Store dropdown, choose your connected Etsy shop.
3. Browse the CustomCat catalog and select the first product you want to include in your grouped listing.

2. Customize Your First Product

1. Locate your first product and click Edit.
2. Upload or select your design.
3. Choose the product colors and sizes you want to offer.
4. Adjust the product name, pricing, artwork placement, and other available settings.
5. Click Confirm when you are finished.

3. Add Additional Product Styles

Select the next product you want to include, such as a hoodie or crewneck.

Repeat the customization process for each product:

1. Click Edit.
2. Apply your design.
3. Select the colors and sizes you want to offer.
4. Adjust the product settings and pricing.
5. Click Confirm.

Continue until you have created all the product styles you want to include in the Etsy listing.

4. Group Your Products

1. Click Next to continue to Step 2.
2. Select the products you want to combine.
3. Open the Actions dropdown.
4. Select Group Products.

CustomCat will combine the selected products into one grouped listing.

5. Configure Your Grouped Listing

Enter a name for your product group and complete the listing information, including:

• Listing title
• Description
• Tags
• Other available settings

Review each product in the group to make sure its design, colors, sizes, and pricing are correct.

When everything looks right, click Save Product.

6. Export the Grouped Listing to Etsy

1. Click Export Products.
2. Review the listing and each grouped product on the final export screen.
3. Click Confirm in the upper-right corner when you are ready to publish.

A progress bar will display the export status. Once the export is complete, a success message will appear.

Your Etsy listing will include three separate variation menus—Style, Color, and Size—and each available combination will remain connected to the correct CustomCat product for automated fulfillment.

Updating Existing Etsy Listings

The new grouping feature becomes available automatically in CustomCat, but it does not automatically convert your existing Etsy listings into grouped listings.

To use the new Style, Color, and Size structure, create and export a new grouped product through the CustomCat app using the steps above.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Group related products: Combine complementary styles, such as T-shirts, hoodies, and crewnecks featuring the same design.
• Review every product: Available colors, sizes, and prices may differ between styles.
• Use clear product images: Include mockups that help shoppers understand the differences between the styles in your listing.
• Check your combinations: Every Style, Color, and Size combination counts as a separate variation combination on Etsy.
• No manual SKU mapping is required: Products grouped and exported through CustomCat remain connected to the appropriate CustomCat variants for fulfillment.

Etsy currently permits up to 400 option combinations on listings using three variations. 

For example:

4 styles × 10 colors × 8 sizes = 320 combinations

That works within 400. But:

5 styles × 12 colors × 8 sizes = 480 combinations

That would exceed the likely CustomCat limit.
