Step-by-Step: How to Use & Edit a Product Template with CustomCat
CustomCat's Product Templates make it easy to create consistent listings with pre-filled product details. This tutorial shows you how to access, edit, and use templates for bulk product creation and export.
1. Access Your Product Templates

Log in to your CustomCat account.

Go to “Create Product” > “Advanced Tools” > “Product Templates.”

Select the store where your saved templates are located.
2. View or Edit an Existing Template

Click on a template name to view its saved products and details.
✏️ Edit Template Name

Templates are named by default timestamp (e.g., “Template - 2025-06-04 11:23 AM”).

Click the edit icon next to the name to rename it for easier reference.
🗑️ Remove a Product

Click the red X next to any product you want to remove from the template.
3. Use the Template

Click “Use Template” to load it into the product creation workflow.

This action skips you directly to Step 2: Bulk Edit in the Advanced Product Creation flow.
4. Bulk Edit Product Details
Once your template loads:

Products will appear without any designs but will be pre-filled with saved data:

Product types
-
Colors & sizes
-
Titles, descriptions, tags, and pricing

🎨 Add Designs

Select artwork from your Design Library
OR -
Upload new designs directly from your device
🧰 Use Bulk Actions (Optional)

Apply positioning presets
-
Tag products
-
Adjust variant pricing, etc.
When satisfied, click “Next Step.”
5. Export Products

Review all product data on the export page

Click the gear icon to review or adjust your export settings if needed

Click “Export All” to push the products live to your connected store

You’ve successfully used and edited a saved Product Template in CustomCat. You can now build and export products faster with consistent formatting across your catalog.
