Step-by-Step: Creating a Product with CustomCat

 

With CustomCat, you can create and export custom products to your store using your own designs. This guide walks you through the Single Product Listing creation process from start to finish.

1. Start Product Creation

  • Log in to your CustomCat account.

  • Click “Create Product” in the left navigation
    or use “Add Product” from the Quick Links section or Store Dashboard.

  • Choose “Create Single Listing” when prompted.

2. Select Your Store

  • Choose the store where you want to export this product.

3. Choose a Product

  • Browse products by category or use the search bar to find a specific item or brand.

  • Hover over the product and click “Add” to begin customizing it.

4. Customize Your Product

✅ Product Info, Pricing & Options

  • Review details like variant pricing, stock availability, shipping methods, and artwork guidelines.

  • Select your preferred product colors and sizes.

5. Add Your Design

  • Click the “Design” tab in the editor.

  • Upload a new design or choose one from your Design Library.

  • Your design will appear on the product artboard.

🎯 Position the Design

  • Use one of the preset placements or select “Custom” to position it manually.

  • For products with front & back print areas, click “Back” above the product to upload or assign a design to the back.

  • Toggle between Mockup and Artboard views to view the design placement on the mockup. 

6. Edit Product Listing Details

Click "Next" to:

  • Edit the product title, description, and sale price

  • Add tags for easier search and organization

⚠️ Options may vary depending on your connected platform (Shopify, Etsy, etc.).

7. Confirm & Continue

  • Once everything looks good, click “Next” in the bottom-right corner of the designer.

Now you can:

  • Click “Export Products” to review and export

  • Or click “Create Another Product” to build more before exporting

🔁 For bulk exports, use the Advanced Tools section instead.

8. Export Your Product

📋 Review Settings

  • Verify that all product details are accurate.

  • To adjust export options, click the gear icon next to the product.

🚀 Export

  • Click “Export All” (for multiple products) or “Export” next to a specific product.

  • A “Success!” message will appear when your export is complete.

9. Post-Export Options

After exporting, you can:

  • Click “View in Store” to preview the product on your e-commerce site

  • Click “View in CustomCat” to access the product in My Products
