How to Use CustomCat’s Design Library for Bulk Product Creation (Advanced)

 

CustomCat’s Design Library integrates directly with the Advanced Product Creation Tools, allowing you to streamline your bulk creation workflow. Follow these steps to prepare your designs for fast and efficient product export.

1. Open the Design Library

  • Log in to your CustomCat account.

  • Click “Design Library” in the left-hand navigation menu.

  • Click “Upload Design” at the top of the page.

2. Upload Your Design Files

  • Click “Add Designs” to choose files from your device.

  • You can upload up to 250 files at a time.

✅ Supported File Types: PNG, JPG, AI, EPS, SVG, PDF
🏆 Recommended: Use high-resolution PNG files, especially if you plan to use Exact Trim settings or CustomCat Art Templates.

💡 Pro Tips Before Uploading

Pro Tip #1: Use Strategic File Names

  • Name your designs based on what you want the product titles to be.

  • When exporting, you can enable settings like:

    • Design Filename

    • Design Filename + Product Title
      → This can save you time by auto-generating clear product titles.

Pro Tip #2: Add Design Tags Early

  • Add tags during upload to organize your designs by category, product type, or campaign.

  • Later, you can enable the export setting: “Export Design Tags” to attach these tags to product listings.

3. Configure Trim Settings

During upload, choose your Trim Option for each design:

🧷 Use Exact Artwork Dimensions

  • Keeps your original file size and layout exactly as is.

  • Ideal when using CustomCat Art Templates for precise placement.

Requires PNG files and proper sizing based on product-specific guidelines.

✂️ Trim Excess Transparent Space

  • Automatically crops transparent edges and resizes your design to fit CustomCat’s product presets.

Best for general use across multiple products; auto-centers artwork on most items.

4. Select and Apply Upload Settings

  • Click “Select All” to apply settings to all uploaded files,
    or manually check the boxes next to individual designs.

5. Start the Upload

  • Click “Start Upload” in the top-right corner.

  • A progress bar will show as your files upload.

⚠️ Do not leave the page until uploads are complete to avoid incomplete files.

6. Upload Complete

Once upload finishes:

  • You’ll be returned to the Design Library

  • All uploaded designs will be visible and ready for bulk product creation

✅ You’re Ready to Build Products

With your designs uploaded and tagged properly, you’re now ready to use them in the Bulk Product Creation tool for fast, large-scale product exports.
